Hello!

My name is Mariem Taleb and I’m a Product Designer with a background in software engineering based in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

I offer experience in both designing and developing software. As a Product Designer, my understanding of software processes and technologies makes communication with developers much easier and helps in making the right design decisions as well.

I'm currently a Product Designer at ITKANN, focused on developing e-commerce and delivery service solutions tailored to the Mauritanian market.

A bit more about me

I graduated from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor in Software Engineering (COOP) in 2022. As a COOP student, I had the opportunity to complete multiple internships before graduating. Through these internships, I was able to experience the different parts of software development (including UX Design) and that helped me quickly realize that I really loved working as a UX designer.

In 2020, once I was 100% sure that I wanted to be a UX designer, I started the UX Design Program at CareerFoundry.

The past 2 years, I had the opportunity to gain some experience in UX Design through multiple projects. In 2021-2022, I was a part-time Volunteer UX Designer at Software For Love and then a Junior UX Researcher & Designer at Industrial Inc.
